Migrating MicroVMs

Migrating a MicroVM is a simple and complex task at the same time.

The steps are roughly like:

1. Turn off MicroVM
2. Transfer datasets with:

syncoid --sendoptions=c --recursive --preserve-properties server9-storage/microvms/gancio root@storage1.cluster.zentralwerk.org:storage1-ssd-microvm/data/microvms/gancio

3. Change c3d2.deployment.server
4. Deploy MicroVM
5. Verify if data is complete and everything is functioning
6. Deploy both MicroVM hosts to update the auto start systemd units
